Organizations ready to make a commitment

Intention matters.
Action makes change.

A Reconciliation Action Program turns a relationship that needs attention into a shared plan, with responsibilities, deadlines and results that can be made public.

Start my PAR-MX

Your own plan. A public commitment.

Every organization starts from a different place. A PAR-MX begins by listening to the people involved and identifying what the organization can change through its everyday work.

01

Business and work

Improve working relationships, create opportunities and collaborate with local suppliers and communities.

02

Education and civil society

Bring generations together, acknowledge different histories and create spaces for learning and dialogue.

03

Institutions and communities

Build plural agreements with clear responsibilities and participation by those who experience the situation.

Grow from
what we can do.

Four proposed levels to sustain the work. Each organization defines its own starting point.

  1. 01

    Raíz

    Understand

Listen, understand the situation and define initial commitments.

  2. 02

    Puente

    Put into practice

Carry out a project with the people involved and strengthen the relationship.

  3. 03

    Compromiso

    Integrate

Embed actions and indicators in the organization’s operations.

  4. 04

    Legado

    Sustain

Demonstrate results, share learning and support other organizations.

Initial methodology in development. These levels are subject to validation and do not constitute a certification.

How a program begins.

  1. 01

    Listen and define

Identify the relationship that needs attention. Bring the parties together, listen to their perspectives and agree on a diagnosis.

  2. 02

    Design the commitment

Define a goal, actions, an owner, resources, dates and indicators. Review the draft with the people involved.

  3. 03

    Act and report

Implement the actions, track progress and publish results. Adapt the program based on what you learn.

A commitment you can review.

An illustrative example for an intergenerational program. Each PAR must agree on its own goals with the people involved.

Commitments open to review.

Published programs should identify the organization, sector, location, level, term and progress. This section will bring together the first PAR-MX plans when documents are authorized for public review.

Let’s be clear.

Do we need a finished program?

No. Start with a relationship you want to improve and a team willing to listen. This inquiry helps you organize that starting point.

Who should help design it?

Leadership, a person responsible for follow-up and representatives of the parties involved. Workers, community partners, human resources and communications teams may also contribute.

Is PAR-MX a certification?

No. The methodology is being developed. The proposed levels describe program maturity; they are not a certification or a guarantee of results.

How are support and costs agreed?

Scope, activities, timelines and any applicable costs must be agreed before work begins. Preparing this inquiry does not purchase a service.

Let’s start with your organization.

Tell us which relationship you want to transform and who could help lead the process. You do not need all the answers yet.
